The SGS 66599 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 14.00 mm (0.5512 inch) diameter with a 135-degree split point and a Ti-NAMITE-X (TX) proprietary finish that extends tool life in abrasive and hard workpiece materials. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design paired with web thinning reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this bit suitable for deep-hole drilling operations where heat management is critical. This bit is spec-rated to DIN 6537 and is classified as a high-performance, micrograin carbide grade tool — appropriate for use in machining centers, CNC drilling, and precision manual setups.
The SGS 66599 is suited for precision drilling in metals, composites, and other hard materials encountered in industrial machining, tooling, and fabrication environments. The Series 142P designation and DIN 6537 specification make it a recognized standard in production shops. Its straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 60.00 mm (2.3622 inches), this bit handles intermediate-depth holes without a peck cycle in many setups. It is a single-piece sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual spindles accepting a straight cylindrical shank in the 0.3100 inch shank diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die professionals familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the spindle speed and feed required by the workpiece material. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed adjustments, and using the bit in setups with excessive runout. Always verify coolant flow is active before beginning a through-coolant drilling operation.
