The SGS 66586 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built to DIN 6537 standards, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and faster penetration. The Ti-NAMITE-X coating provides elevated hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 11.30 mm in diameter with a 4.65-inch overall length and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this drill is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and MRO professionals running high-cycle drilling operations. Coolant-through capability allows internal delivery of cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge.
The SGS 66586 is used in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance repair operations where consistent hole tolerances and long tool life are required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. With a maximum drilling depth of 2.20 inches and a flute length of 2.80 inches, it handles through-hole and deep-hole drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. Its micrograin carbide construction makes it a reliable choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle production setups where carbide-grade performance is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide jobber drill for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and collet-chuck setups requiring an 11.30 mm diameter, straight-shank carbide drill conforming to DIN 6537 and Series 142P standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or chuck and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before cutting. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
