The SGS 66564 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting applications. Built to DIN 6537 specification, this Series 142P drill features a 9.10 mm (0.3583 inch) diameter, a 135-degree split point, and a Ti-NAMITE-X coating that extends tool life in demanding materials including alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron. The web-thinned point reduces thrust at entry and improves chip evacuation. Overall length is 103.00 mm (4.0551 inches) with a straight-cylindrical shank. Coolant-through capability supports deep-hole applications. Machinists and tool-and-die trades rely on this type of drill for precision production environments where carbide rigidity and tight diameter tolerances are required.
The SGS 66564 is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups where consistent hole quality and dimensional repeatability matter. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 61.00 mm (2.4016 inch) flute length support drilling to a maximum depth of 49.00 mm (1.9291 inches) per pass. The micrograin carbide grade is appropriate for short-chipping materials and interrupted cuts where high-speed steel tooling would deflect or wear prematurely. This drill ships individually and is intended as a direct replacement or stock replenishment unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard stock unit for CNC and conventional drilling setups requiring a 9.10 mm solid carbide jobber drill with a straight-cylindrical shank. Fits any toolholder or chuck accepting a 10.00 mm (0.2300 inch) shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop, lockout-tagout state per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank to the specified clamping torque of the toolholder manufacturer. Verify coolant-through circuit pressure and flow before running at full depth to prevent thermal cracking of the carbide. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use — carbide drills are brittle and should not be used if chipping or cratering is visible on the flute faces.
