The SGS 66555 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. It carries a Ti-NAMITE-X coating that extends tool life and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 135-degree split point geometry allows fast, accurate hole entry with minimal walking and reduced thrust. At 8.20 mm in diameter with a 4.0551-inch overall length, this bit is sized for precision work in ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other demanding workpiece materials. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-hole or high-cycle production applications. It is designed for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and metalworking professionals.
The SGS 66555 Series 142P jobber drill fits standard machining center spindles and drill press chucks via its straight-cylindrical shank. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio and 61.00 mm flute length support drilling to a maximum depth of 43.00 mm. Web-thinned construction reduces cutting resistance. This bit suits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools in job shop, production, and maintenance-repair-operations environments where consistent hole quality in tough materials is required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; fits standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and hydraulic toolholders sized for the 10.00 mm shank diameter. Conforms to DIN 6537 specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm chuck or collet bore matches the 10.00 mm shank diameter before seating the bit, and tighten the chuck or collet to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque range. When using coolant-through capability, verify coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine tool's recommended parameters before initiating the cut.
