The SGS 66539 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built to DIN 6537 specification, it features a 135-degree split point, Ti-NAMITE-X coating, and web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. At 6.60 mm (0.2598 inches) in diameter with a 3.5827-inch overall length, this drill is suited for machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance trades working with hard or abrasive materials where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. Coolant-through capability supports extended tool life in CNC and production drilling applications.
This drill is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production line operations where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and micrograin carbide substrate make it appropriate for drilling stainless steel, alloy steels, cast iron, and similar hard materials. It is equally at home in toolroom repair work and high-cycle manufacturing. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification.
Designed as a high-performance replacement jobber drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight-cylindrical shank tooling in the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch (6.00 to 7.00 mm) diameter range. Series 142P designation applies.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck before tightening to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant supply lines and pressure settings are configured per machine and tooling guidelines before beginning the drilling cycle.
