Product Description

The SGS 66535 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Sized at 6.20 mm (0.2441 inches) in diameter, it features a 135-degree split point and a Ti-NAMITE-X coating for extended tool life and reduced heat buildup at the cutting edge. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter and 36.00 mm in length, fitting standard drill chucks and collet holders. This drill is intended for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators working on CNC machining centers or manual drill presses where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required.

The SGS 66535 Series 142P jobber drill is suited for precision drilling operations in ferrous and hard materials where a high-performance carbide tool is specified. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it appropriate for deeper holes where chip evacuation and heat control are priorities. It is a right-hand cutting drill with spiral flutes, built to DIN 6537 specification, and fits production environments requiring repeatable diameter accuracy within a tolerance of +0.006 to +0.021 mm.

Key Features

  • Solid micrograin carbide construction for hardness and wear resistance in difficult-to-machine materials
  • Ti-NAMITE-X coating reduces friction and extends cutting life compared to uncoated carbide
  • 135-degree split point with web-thinned geometry for self-centering entry and reduced thrust force
  • Coolant-through design supports chip flushing and thermal management in deep-hole drilling
  • Straight-cylindrical shank compatible with standard chucks and collet systems
  • Built to DIN 6537 specification for consistent dimensional accuracy across production runs

Compatibility

Designed as a high-performance replacement jobber drill for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with setups requiring a 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm diameter drill in the DIN 6537 Series 142P designation.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before seating the shank, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide drill. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
