The SGS 66524 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6537 specification, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for fast penetration and reduced thrust. The Ti-NAMITE-X (TX) coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation. At 3.2283 inches overall length with a 1.7323-inch flute length, this bit is sized for general jobber-range applications in CNC machining, precision fabrication, and production drilling environments. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deep-hole work and harder workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in machine shop and manufacturing settings.
The SGS 66524 Series 142P drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers and precision drilling fixtures where coolant-through tooling is required. The straight cylindrical shank with a 0.3100-inch diameter seats in standard drill chucks and collet systems. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports maximum drilling depths up to 2.3622 inches, making it suitable for through-hole and blind-hole operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and composites. It is a right-hand cut, two-flute design with a regular spiral flute profile.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and precision drilling equipment accepting straight cylindrical shank tooling with a 0.3100-inch shank diameter. Fits standard ER collet systems and drill chucks sized for the Series 142P shank profile.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the coolant-through passages in the machine spindle are compatible and properly aligned before use. Verify collet or chuck runout is within tolerance before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and can cause premature breakage. Do not use this bit in handheld drilling applications.
