Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers extended tool life in high-heat, abrasive applications. The bit measures 3.50 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle, a 20.00 mm flute length, and a 52.00 mm overall length. The straight-flute geometry, combined with web thinning, reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation in short-hole drilling operations. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling professionals working on tight-tolerance components.
The SGS 66012 is designed for drilling cast iron, steel, and hardened steel, including hardened materials classified under secondary workpiece material designations. Its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 15.00 mm maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for shallow, high-precision holes in manufacturing and maintenance machining environments. The right-hand cutting direction and standard point type align with conventional CNC machining centers and benchtop drill press setups.
