The SGS 64829 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to Series 131N standards, this bit features a 124-degree notched point angle and a titanium diboride (TiB2) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life. The three-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and improved hole quality. At 5.90 mm (0.2323 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 82.00 mm (3.228 inches), it fits standard straight-shank toolholders and is suited for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance professionals working with hard or abrasive materials.
This drill bit is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where tight tolerances and consistent hole geometry are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 35.00 mm (1.378 inches) make it well matched to through-hole and blind-hole work in ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for heat management during deep drilling cycles.
Designed as a Series 131N jobber length drill bit with a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, compatible with standard drill chucks, ER collet systems, and toolholders accepting 6.00 mm straight shanks. Fits machines in the 5.00 to 6.00 mm drill bit size range as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify shank seating depth and runout with an indicator before beginning a drilling cycle. Apply external cutting fluid or coolant at the cutting zone, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery.
