The SGS 64825 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Measuring 5.5 mm in diameter (0.2165 inches) with an overall length of 82 mm, the bit features a titanium diboride (TiB2) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive materials. The 124-degree notched point geometry promotes self-centering and reduces thrust force at entry. Three spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, and the straight-cylindrical shank with a 6 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks. This bit is sold individually and is suited for machinists, tool and die professionals, and skilled tradespeople working in precision drilling environments.
The SGS 64825 is intended for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where high-performance carbide tooling is required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 35 mm make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole operations in metal fabrication, maintenance, and production environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and CNC spindle operation. Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the drill press, mill, or CNC spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing bits. Carbide is brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rates, and improper chuck torque that can cause shank slippage or bit fracture. Verify spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before beginning a drilling operation.
