The SGS 61070 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 3.30 mm (0.1299 inch) diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle. Built to DIN 338 standards, it is machined from micrograin carbide and features a bright, uncoated finish. The two-flute, right-hand-cut spiral design produces clean, accurate holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. An overall length of 2.60 inches and a flute length of 1.42 inches make it a standard reach bit suited for general production drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at the point. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians use this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools.
The SGS 61070 fits applications requiring close-tolerance hole sizing. The diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches (-0.0127 to 0.0000 mm) supports precision work where hole diameter consistency is critical. Maximum drilling depth is 28.00 mm, which aligns with the 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio of the Series 101 design. Typical materials include aluminum, steel, stainless, plastics, and composite substrates. This bit does not include coolant-through capability and is best used with external flood coolant or cutting oil to maintain edge life during extended runs.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber-length drill bit suitable for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.1299-inch straight cylindrical shank. Fits drill bit size range of 0.1000 to 0.1500 inches (3.00 to 4.00 mm) tooling setups.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by machinists or qualified trade personnel familiar with rotary cutting tool operation. Secure the straight shank fully and concentrically in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or flood coolant during drilling to protect the carbide edge and prevent thermal cracking. Inspect the point for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide is hard but brittle and susceptible to damage from interrupted cuts or improper feed rates.
