The SGS 53129 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It features a 29/64-inch (0.4531 inches) diameter, a 150-degree point angle, and a three-flute regular spiral configuration. The micrograin solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance far beyond high-speed steel, making it suitable for production drilling in tough materials. The bright, uncoated finish maintains sharp cutting geometry without added coating thickness. At 4.75 inches overall length with a 3-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length toolholders and drill chucks. A tapered web with web thinning reduces thrust load and improves chip evacuation at the entry point.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where consistent hole quality is required. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct chucking in standard drill chucks or collet-style toolholders. It is well suited for tool-and-die shops, production machining floors, and maintenance departments working with hard or abrasive materials that would wear conventional high-speed steel bits prematurely. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and drill diameter before beginning the cut; consult published carbide drilling data for the specific material grade.
