The SGS 53118 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials including cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metals, and alloy steel. Built to DIN 6539 standards using micrograin carbide, this bit features a 150-degree point angle that reduces entry force and improves centering on hard workpieces. The straight shank measures 0.2812 inches in diameter, the overall length is 3.5 inches, and the 3-flute regular spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust during entry. This bit is sold individually and is suited for machine shop, toolroom, and maintenance work where hole accuracy and tool life in difficult materials are priorities.
