The SGS 51127 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding production environments. It carries a 27/64 inch (0.4219 inch) diameter with a 118-degree facet point and a web-thinned, tapered web geometry that reduces entry thrust and improves centering accuracy. The bright, uncoated micrograin carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention on harder workpiece materials. At 4.5 inches overall length with a 2.875 inch flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders with its straight cylindrical shank. It is sold individually and suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators.
The SGS 51127 is intended for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its regular spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suits general-purpose production drilling at moderate depths, with a maximum drilling depth of 2.2969 inches. This bit is well suited for machine shop environments using CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where consistent diameter tolerance and hole quality are required.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered off and all axes at a safe position. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and carbide tooling before engaging the cut. Coolant through is not supported on this bit; flood or mist coolant applied externally is recommended when drilling ferrous materials.
