The SGS 51110 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers consistent performance in metalworking, fabrication, and industrial maintenance applications. It measures 5/32 inch (0.1562 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2.5 inches and a flute length of 1.375 inches. The 118-degree faceted point and web-thinned tip reduce entry force and walking on startup. Two spiral flutes in a regular helix clear chips efficiently throughout the cut. This bit is sized and configured for use in standard drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held electric drills by machinists and maintenance technicians.
The SGS 51110 fits applications requiring accurate small-diameter holes in metal, plastic, and composite materials. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard keyless or keyed chucks without modification. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1.11-inch maximum drilling depth make it well suited for through-holes and blind holes in sheet metal, structural components, and machined parts. Conformance to DIN 338 standards ensures dimensional consistency for interchangeable use across production and repair workflows.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and hand-held electric drills accepting a 0.1562-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This drill bit is installed and serviced by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators using standard chuck tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and observe the maximum drilling depth of 1.11 inches to prevent flute clogging and premature tool wear. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for carbide tooling, and inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use.
