The SGS 49533 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. It features a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) mill diameter with a matching 6 mm shank diameter and an overall length of 75 mm, classifying it as an extra-long reach tool. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, making it suitable for high-speed, dry, or semi-dry machining. Right-hand cutting and flute direction are standard. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in precision milling environments.
The SGS 49533 is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels (H), cast irons (K), stainless steels (M), non-ferrous materials (N), carbon and alloy steels (P), and heat-resistant superalloys (S). It is well suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing operations where a full-radius tip is required. The extra-long length of cut at 0.984 inches (25 mm) allows access to deeper pockets and complex 3D contours that standard-length end mills cannot reach. It is a single-end tool in the SGS Series 1XLMB lineup.
Designed for use with compatible CNC milling machines and machining centers that accept a 6 mm straight shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the SGS Series 1XLMB classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fracture if run while damaged. Always follow machine guarding protocols and appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
