The SGS 46858 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 10 mm cutting diameter with a 0.50 mm corner radius and four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration. The TX coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance for extended tool life in demanding applications. With a variable helix and variable index design, this end mill reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists alike benefit from the ZPMC series geometry, which is engineered for aggressive stock removal without sacrificing dimensional accuracy.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running ferrous and exotic workpiece materials in production environments. The 22 mm length of cut and 72 mm overall length accommodate moderate-depth peripheral and slotting operations. The straight-cylindrical shank at 10 mm diameter fits standard end mill toolholders. Secondary application extends to hard materials, making it a practical choice for shops running hardened steel components or aerospace alloys. It is a single-end tool, intended for installation in collet chucks or side-lock holders on vertical or horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. The 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance fits precision collet chucks and side-lock holders common in CNC machining setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, undamaged toolholder before tightening. Confirm runout is within acceptable limits after installation using a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque guidelines and consult the machining center's programming documentation for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
