The SGS 46364 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 0.3937-inch (10 mm) mill diameter, a 0.8661-inch (22 mm) length of cut, and four spiral flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. This end mill is manufactured from micrograin carbide, providing the edge stability required for harder workpiece materials. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
The SGS 46364 is suited for milling operations on a broad range of materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Its regular-length profile makes it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where a compact overhang is preferred. Both cutting and flute directions are right-hand, which is standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using collet chucks or end mill holders sized for a 10 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe mode before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to achieve full contact along the shank and apply the recommended torque for the holder type per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
