The SGS 46360 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial and production environments. With a 0.2362 inch mill diameter, 0.5118 inch length of cut, and 4 spiral flutes, this tool is built to remove material efficiently while maintaining tight tolerances. The AlTiN finish provides heat and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and dry cutting applications. A variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolrooms.
The SGS 46360 is suited for milling hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys, cast irons, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. It is configured as a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a straight-cylindrical shank. The regular length classification and 6.00 mm shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER and shrink-fit collet toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. This tool does not feature a center-cutting geometry and is not intended for plunge entry.
Suitable for milling workpiece materials classified under codes H, K, M, P, and S, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys. Part of the SGS Z1M series.
This end mill should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder runout requirements and proper collet torque procedures. Confirm shank diameter tolerance (+0.000/-0.009 mm) is compatible with the selected toolholder before mounting. Because this tool is not center-cutting, feeds and speeds programs must avoid direct plunge entry — use ramp or helical interpolation for pocket entries. Inspect the tool and holder for contamination or damage before each setup.
