The SGS 44834 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 12 mm mill diameter, a 16 mm length of cut, and a 4 mm corner radius (0.1575 inches), ground to a tolerance of -0.0500 to 0.0000 mm. The three-flute, right-hand helical design with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials. The single-end, extended-reach geometry on a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank suits it for use in standard end mill holders. Bright uncoated finish is standard. This tool is part of the Series 43ML short-length roughing line and weighs 0.325 pounds.
The SGS 44834 is intended for roughing passes in non-ferrous metal workpieces on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Its extended reach length of 39.88 mm and reduced neck diameter of 11.48 mm allow access to features with moderate depth. The 100 mm overall length and coarse pitch flute geometry suit high-feed roughing strategies in aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and other N-group materials. It is designed for use with end mill holders and is not center-cutting, so plunge entry is not recommended without a pre-drilled hole or ramping entry.

Confirm holder runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on solid carbide tools. This tool is not center-cutting - avoid direct plunge entry; use ramping or helical interpolation for pocket entry. Inspect the corner radius condition before each use, as carbide corners are susceptible to chipping if impacted against hardened surfaces or used outside the rated material group.
