The SGS 43555 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 5XLM extra-long specifications, it features a 0.5512-inch cutting diameter, a 2.9528-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to extended-reach cuts where rigidity and edge retention are critical. This tool is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and carries a bright uncoated finish for versatile use across a wide range of workpiece materials. It is intended for installation in CNC machining centers and manual mills by machinists and tooling professionals.
The SGS 43555 is suited for milling operations requiring deep axial reach that standard-length end mills cannot achieve. The extra-long length of cut makes it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in tall workpieces or deep cavities. Primary workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad spectrum of materials such as hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.5512-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for right-hand cutting tools. Suitable for workpiece materials designated under codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per SGS Series 5XLM specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify shank seating depth and collet condition prior to operation to maintain concentricity within the tolerance requirements of the application. Do not use this tool in a left-hand spindle rotation setup, as the flute and cut direction are right-hand only.
