The SGS 43482 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Built to Series 33MC standards, it features a 10 mm mill diameter, a 27 mm length of cut, and a 2.50 mm (0.0984 inch) corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life under aggressive roughing conditions. The AlTiN coating - designated Ti-NAMITE-A by SGS - provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonics and chatter. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in milling operations across job shops and production environments.
The SGS 43482 is suited for roughing passes on ferrous and hard materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its single-end, straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard end mill holders. The coarse pitch and helical flute geometry support chip evacuation in deep slotting and peripheral milling. The 72 mm overall length and 10 mm shank diameter make it a practical fit for standard CAT, BT, and HSK tooling setups where a compact, rigid rougher is needed.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S); secondary workpiece material is hard material (code H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before loading or unloading the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the end mill holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before committing to a full-depth roughing pass.
