The SGS 42681 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 12 mm mill diameter, a 25 mm length of cut, and a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inches) corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in aggressive applications. The five-flute, right-hand helical design with a high helix angle supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An AlTiN coating, marketed under the Ti-NAMITE-A designation, provides excellent heat resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in precision machining environments.
The SGS 42681 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and hard materials in both roughing and finishing passes. With a straight-cylindrical shank and standard length profile, it seats directly in conventional end mill holders for CNC machining centers and manual mills. The variable index geometry helps break up harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for high-material-removal-rate operations where surface finish still matters.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
