The SGS 42632 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 16 mm diameter, a 75 mm length of cut, and a 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch) corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces chipping at part corners. The 5-flute, single-end configuration runs with a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. An AlTiN coating - SGS proprietary designation Ti-NAMITE-A - provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. The 45-degree high helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in both roughing and finishing passes.
The SGS 42632 is part of the Series 55C extra-long tool family and is suited for mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking where deep cavities or extended reach are required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It is also rated for secondary use in hard materials. The straight cylindrical shank is sized at 16 mm diameter with an h6 tolerance, making it compatible with standard end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary application covers hard materials. Series 55C designation applies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling specifications. Power down and lock out the spindle before installing or removing the end mill from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the holder collet or set screw is torqued according to the holder manufacturer's guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or worn tool.
