The SGS 41405 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.0394-inch cutting diameter, four flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean finishes in a range of workpiece materials. The stub-length geometry keeps deflection low when cutting at small diameters. It is center-cutting and features a right-hand spiral flute with right-hand cut direction. The shank diameter is 0.1181 inches with a straight cylindrical profile. Made from micrograin carbide with a bright uncoated finish, this tool suits close-tolerance work on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use in machining operations requiring small-diameter cutting capability. The Series 14M stub-length design is appropriate for face milling, slotting, and profiling passes where rigidity is critical. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as some high-temperature alloys. It is suited for use in tool and die shops, precision component manufacturing, and production machining environments where small-diameter tooling is routinely required.
Compatible with workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S per the manufacturer specification. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC and manual milling setups that require Series 14M stub-length solid carbide end mills.
This tool is installed by machinists in compatible end mill holders, collet chucks, or shrink-fit toolholders sized for a 0.1181-inch shank diameter. Verify holder runout and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before operation. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification prior to use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine spindle specifications.
