The SGS 40530 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 4.00 mm mill diameter, 14.00 mm length of cut, and a 3-flute geometry, this tool delivers consistent material removal across both roughing and finishing operations. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, the 40530 offers the rigidity and wear resistance required for demanding workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes this tool suitable for applications where coating compatibility or regrinding is a consideration.
The SGS 40530 is suited for CNC machining centers and milling machines operating on metallic workpieces including hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys. Its standard-length, single-end configuration fits conventional tool holders and collet chucks used in production and job-shop environments. The 4.00 mm shank diameter matches the 4.00 mm mill diameter, making tool holder selection straightforward. This end mill is appropriate for machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in aerospace, general manufacturing, and precision machining.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill in the SGS Series 05B metric line, compatible with standard 4.00 mm collet chucks and tool holders on CNC milling machines and machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators with the machine fully powered down and spindle at rest. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
