The SGS 39633 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of metallic and non-metallic workpiece materials. It carries a 0.3125 inch cutting diameter with a 0.5 inch length of cut, a 0.3125 inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The four-flute, spiral-flute geometry runs a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance. This is a double-end, stub-length tool machined from micrograin carbide stock, suitable for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish are priorities.
The SGS 39633 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including cast iron, copper alloys, aluminum, titanium alloys, and steel. Its stub-length profile reduces deflection in short-reach applications, making it a reliable choice for slotting, peripheral milling, and shoulder milling in production and maintenance machining environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups. Machinists and toolroom technicians in manufacturing, job shops, and MRO operations are the typical end users.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, copper alloys, aluminum and its alloys, titanium and high-temperature alloys, steel, and stainless steel. Compatible with standard straight-bore collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.3125 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully into a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is at a complete stop before inserting or removing the tool. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application appropriate to the workpiece material.
