The SGS 39602 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a very small cutting diameter. With a 0.0313-inch (1/32-inch) mill diameter and four flutes, this tool delivers fine detail cutting with excellent chip evacuation. The 30-degree helix angle and micrograin carbide construction provide rigidity and edge retention in demanding applications. A TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, maximizing tool value. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators working in precision machining environments.
The SGS 39602 is suited for milling operations across a range of workpiece material categories, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its stub-length profile and 0.0625-inch (1/16-inch) length of cut make it appropriate for shallow, precise passes in tight geometries. The 1/8-inch shank diameter accommodates standard collets and toolholding systems common in CNC milling centers and manual mills handling fine detail work.
Designed as a Series 14B stub-length ball end mill with a 1/8-inch shank, compatible with standard collet toolholding systems accepting 1/8-inch shank tooling on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet to the recommended grip length before tightening to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the very small diameter of this tool.
