The SGS 39601 is a stub-length square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC and manual milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN coating, it carries a 0.0313 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0625 inch length of cut, and a 1.5 inch overall length. The 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish. This tool is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in close-tolerance applications.

The SGS 39601 is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations in small-feature work where a stub-length geometry improves rigidity and reduces deflection. The TiCN coating extends tool life in abrasive and moderately hard materials. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle at a full stop and all power isolated. Secure the 0.125 inch straight shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, torquing to the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Verify runout before cutting, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to excessive TIR. Follow applicable shop safety practices and machine guarding requirements during setup and operation.
