The SGS 39577 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, this tool delivers hard-wearing performance in demanding cutting applications. It features a 1/8 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The two-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This end mill is suited for machinists and tooling professionals working in production or precision job-shop environments.
The SGS 39577 is a Series 3 regular-length end mill intended for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard milling conventions. The TiCN coating extends tool life when cutting harder or abrasive materials. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holder systems without modification.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer, covering applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Fits standard 1/8 inch collets and end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the machine manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
