The SGS 39319 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in machining operations. It features a 5/32-inch (0.1563-inch) mill diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut, and a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank, with a 2-inch overall length. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design runs at a 30-degree helix angle and carries a TiN (titanium nitride) finish for improved wear resistance. Centercutting capability allows it to plunge directly into workpiece material. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances and consistent performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
The SGS 39319 is suited for milling a wide range of materials, including ferrous metals, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and high-temperature alloys, as reflected by its primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length classification and compact diameter make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in confined features or small-part work. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank end mill holders and collet systems accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and energy isolated per lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain runout tolerances. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against published cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when programming axial depth.
