The SGS 39055 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with TiCN, it delivers hardness and wear resistance suited for ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It runs a 4-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle and a variable index design that helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish. At 0.4375 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and 2.75 inches overall length, this is a standard-reach tool for milling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and tooling technicians.
This end mill is suited for a wide range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, heat-resistant alloys, and superalloys, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders with a 7/16-inch bore. The centercutting geometry supports both peripheral and plunge milling operations. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in both production and job-shop environments.
Designed as a standard-reach square end mill for use in 7/16-inch collet chucks and end mill holders across CNC and manual milling platforms. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer.
This tool is installed and changed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth per the holder manufacturer's guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace the tool at the first sign of edge degradation to avoid workpiece damage.
