The SGS 38506 is compatible with workpiece material groups P, K, M, S, and H, covering carbon steels, alloy steels, cast irons, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and high-temperature alloys. It fits any tool holder accepting a 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
This end mill is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a collet chuck, end mill holder, or hydraulic toolholder rated for the 0.5-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is clamped to the appropriate h6 tolerance before beginning a cut. Confirm correct spindle direction for right-hand cut tooling before engaging the workpiece. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when handling carbide tooling.
