The SGS 38225 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/4-inch mill diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.045-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding cuts. The 2-flute, single-end geometry with a 30-degree helix angle and coarse pitch promotes efficient chip evacuation. The bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous metals and applications where coating buildup is a concern. The SGS 38225 is used in shop-floor and production machining environments where corner radius geometry is required to reduce edge chipping and improve surface finish on shoulders and slots. It is optimized for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. Secondary application extends to hard materials. The single-end configuration and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill holders across a wide range of CNC machining centers and manual mills.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 2-flute carbide tool.
