The SGS 38122 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining applications. Built to a 1/4 inch diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 0.03 inch corner radius, this tool is engineered for both roughing and finishing passes. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys. Machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms rely on this series for consistent corner geometry and repeatable results.
The 38122 is suited for milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with a straight cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard end mill toolholders. Its 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach for typical cavity and slot milling without sacrificing rigidity. The normal pitch and medium helix angle support stable cutting at conventional feed rates. This tool is well-matched to production environments where consistent corner radius geometry is required across repeat operations.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Shank diameter tolerance is h6 for precise toolholder fitment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder torque and runout procedures. Confirm toolholder bore cleanliness and proper collet or set-screw engagement before use. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the material being cut prior to running the tool. Do not exceed the rated length of cut or apply lateral forces beyond the tool geometry specifications.
