The SGS 38105 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding cuts. With 4 helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it handles both roughing and finishing passes. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure grip in end mill holders, reducing pullout risk under heavy feed rates. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers hardness and edge retention across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a single-end, centercutting-capable geometry in a short length-of-cut configuration, making it well suited for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contouring in both manual and CNC machining centers. The medium helix angle supports chip evacuation across varying feed and speed conditions. It fits standard end mill holders and is appropriate for job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as noted in the SGS Series 01C product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or quill is locked before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
