The SGS 38001 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding material applications. Built to a 0.125 inch mill diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, it reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometries. The 4-flute, single-end configuration with a medium helical flute profile supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill where controlled corner geometry and dimensional accuracy are required. The bright, uncoated surface is well-suited for applications where coating adhesion or thermal incompatibility is a concern.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard end mill holders. The 0.5 inch length of cut and 1.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-medium depth passes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Suitable material applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand cutting. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per SGS Series 01C application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following standard end mill holder torque and runout procedures. Ensure spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Verify holder bore cleanliness and shank engagement depth before tightening to avoid runout or pullout during cutting. Do not exceed recommended depth of cut or feed rates for the workpiece material being machined.
