Product Description

The SGS 36867 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The variable helix geometry helps break up harmonics and chatter during milling passes. Finished with an AlTiN (TX) coating, it handles elevated cutting temperatures without sacrificing edge integrity. At 3-1/4 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank, this four-flute tool suits both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup.

This end mill is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as secondary applications in hard materials. It is a single-end tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting action. The Weldon flat shank design provides positive drive in side-lock toolholders and is standard in horizontal and vertical CNC milling centers. The SGS 36867 belongs to the ZPCR series and is suited for production environments where tool life and consistent radius geometry are critical across multiple parts.

Key Features

  • Solid micrograin carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance in ferrous and exotic alloys
  • AlTiN (TX) coating supports high cutting speeds and elevated-temperature applications
  • Variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish
  • 0.03 inch corner radius with a tight tolerance of -0.002 to 0.000 inches extends tool life and protects corners
  • Weldon flat shank provides secure, positive drive in side-lock toolholders
  • Capable of both roughing and finishing passes, reducing tool changes per operation

Compatibility

Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application is hard material. Part of the SGS ZPCR series.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting, verify the toolholder bore and drive flat are clean and free of chips. Torque the side-lock set screw against the Weldon flat only - never seat the screw on the flute or shank body. Confirm runout at the cutting diameter with a dial indicator before beginning a production run.
