The SGS 36805 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius, this tool is built for precision work on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The micrograin carbide construction and TX coating deliver wear resistance and extended tool life. Four flutes with a variable helix angle and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish across roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation during high-pressure machining setups.
This end mill fits standard end mill toolholders and is suited for CNC machining centers running steel and hard material applications in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms. The short flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it a practical choice for rigid setups where overhang must be minimized. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC milling configurations. The Series ZPCR designation places this tool in the Z-Carb-AP family, engineered for aggressive material removal rates without sacrificing dimensional accuracy.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary application extends to hard materials. Compatible with setups requiring a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe state. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter before torquing to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm proper alignment. Coolant-through connections should be confirmed at the toolholder interface before beginning the cut cycle.
