Product Description

The SGS 36716 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the ZPCR series platform, it features a 1-inch diameter cutting head, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The variable helix geometry and normal pitch combine to minimize chatter and improve chip evacuation. A TX coating provides additional wear resistance. With a Weldon flat shank and 4-inch overall length, this tool seats securely in standard end mill toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.

This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting-capable, single-end, right-hand flute configuration makes it appropriate for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral cutting passes. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat against the toolholder setscrew and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before starting the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade corner radius tolerance.
