The SGS 36702 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. The TiN coating increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive ferrous and hard materials. With a micrograin carbide substrate, this tool holds tight tolerances and resists wear in demanding production environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling applications will find this end mill well suited for interrupted cuts and contoured surfaces.
The SGS 36702 is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in both roughing and finishing operations. Its single-end, center-cutting design makes it suitable for plunge entry and slotting where the corner radius helps reduce stress concentrations at the tool-workpiece interface. The Weldon flat shank provides positive retention in end mill toolholders, making it appropriate for standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running right-hand rotation. It fits within the Z-Carb-AP ZPCR series application range.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application extends to hard materials. Part of the SGS Z-Carb-AP ZPCR series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat securely against the set screw in the toolholder to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before beginning any cut cycle.
