The SGS 36610 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the ZPCR series specification, it features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at workpiece edges. The TX coating enhances wear resistance and tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry help reduce chatter and improve surface finish. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a straight-cylindrical shank and is rated for both roughing and finishing operations. Machinists and CNC operators in precision shops and production environments are the primary installers.
The SGS 36610 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its micrograin carbide substrate and TX coating make it a strong choice for high-hardness workpieces where tool wear is a primary concern. The 4-flute, spiral flute configuration supports efficient chip evacuation in both slotting and profiling passes. Compatible with standard end mill toolholders that accept a 1/2 inch straight shank. Applications span aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining environments where consistent corner geometry is required.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. No coolant-through capability; external coolant or mist lubrication applies.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Confirm shank runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut, as micrograin carbide tools are sensitive to excessive deflection. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for torque and clamping procedures.
