The SGS 36571 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a 13/16-inch length of cut and a 0.0200-inch corner radius. The four-flute geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An AlTiN coating — marketed under the Ti-NAMITE-A designation — provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The ZH1C series design incorporates a variable helix and variable index for reduced harmonics and improved surface finish. This tool is intended for installation by machinists and CNC operators working with precision toolholders.
The SGS 36571 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard secondary materials. It is a single-end tool with a straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand cut and flute direction. Typical applications include contour milling, profiling, and slotting operations on CNC machining centers where corner protection and surface quality are priorities. The standard-length flute and normal pitch make it a versatile choice for production and job-shop environments requiring reliable tool life across multiple workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes hard materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and undamaged before inserting the end mill. Use a toolholder appropriate for a 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
