The SGS 36560 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal and finishing in demanding machining environments. With a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this tool is built for shops running tight-tolerance work on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The AlTiN coating — marketed under SGS's Ti-NAMITE-A designation — provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A variable helix geometry reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, making it effective for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. A Weldon flat shank ensures secure retention in end mill holders.
The SGS 36560 is suited for vertical and horizontal machining centers running ferrous and hard materials in production and job-shop environments. The corner radius geometry — 0.0400 inches nominal with a tolerance of -0.0020 to 0.0000 inches — adds edge strength at the cutting corners, reducing chipping during aggressive passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The short-length profile improves rigidity in setups where deflection is a concern. This tool targets machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, die-mold, and general metalworking applications.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the Weldon flat shank in an appropriate end mill holder and torque the set screw according to the holder manufacturer's specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Verify runout after installation before beginning a cut, particularly when working with tight-diameter tolerances on finished surfaces.
