The SGS 36537 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The four-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a variable helix and variable index design reduces harmonic vibration and promotes smooth chip evacuation. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.75 inch Weldon flat shank provides secure tool holding in milling chucks and collets. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in professional machine shop or production environments.
The SGS 36537 is suited for milling operations on a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The regular-length format and 1.5 inch length of cut make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in standard-depth applications. It is not center-cutting, so it is not designed for direct plunge entry into solid material.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.75 inch Weldon flat shank. Suitable for workpiece materials corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S per the Series Z1 application guidelines. Not center-cutting; direct plunge milling is not recommended.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank securely in the tool holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent pull-out during operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, and confirm that feed rate and speed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
