The SGS 36508 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the Z16C Series platform, this single-end tool features a 0.2188-inch cutting diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut (0.7500 inches decimal), and a corner radius range of 0.0150 to 0.0200 inches. The AlTiN (TX) coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With four helical flutes, a variable helix, and variable index geometry, the 36508 is engineered for both roughing and finishing passes. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing facilities will find this tool suited for tight-tolerance contouring and profiling work.
This end mill is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN coating make it effective in high-heat environments typical of interrupted cuts and continuous profiling in difficult-to-machine alloys. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.2500 inches (1/4 inch) in diameter and is compatible with standard end mill holders. With a short flute length classification and 2-inch overall length, it fits well in confined setups where rigidity and minimal overhang are priorities. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling operations.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Verify holder bore tolerance and runout before seating the shank to maintain dimensional accuracy. This tool does not support coolant-through delivery, so external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone as needed. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting tool length offsets and depth-of-cut parameters.
