The SGS 36507 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining applications. Built to the Z16C series specification, it features a 3/16 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.0150 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life on harder workpiece materials. The variable helix and variable index geometry help break up harmonic vibration during cutting. A TX coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals working on precision components in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
The SGS 36507 is suited for short-reach milling operations where rigidity and accuracy are critical. Its 2 inch overall length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute configuration is standard for most vertical milling setups. This tool handles both roughing and finishing passes, making it a practical choice for shops that want to reduce tool changes when working steel and stainless steel workpieces.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material is hard material. This tool is not center-cutting and does not support plunge entry.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a standard end mill toolholder with appropriate collet or set-screw retention. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Confirm holder runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a small-diameter carbide tool. Do not use this tool for direct plunge cuts, as it is not center-cutting.
