Product Description

The SGS 36505 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the Z16C series platform, it features a 1/8 inch diameter cutting profile with a 1/4 inch length of cut and a corner radius of 0.0150 inches. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With 4 flutes, a variable helix, and variable index geometry, the 36505 is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.

This end mill is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it well-suited for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and runout control are critical. It mounts in standard end mill holders and is intended for right-hand cutting with right-hand flute direction. The single-end configuration and 1-1/2 inch overall length keep the tool compact for shallow-pocket and profiling work.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to protect the corner radius geometry and maintain tolerance.
