The SGS 36386 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 3/4 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that protects workpiece edges and reduces stress concentrations at part corners. The 4-inch overall length and 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank seat securely in standard end mill toolholders. A TX coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish during both roughing and finishing passes. Intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for single-end milling operations on ferrous and hard materials in both production and job-shop environments. The short length type and normal pitch configuration make it appropriate for general-purpose pocketing, profiling, and contouring where a corner radius is required to meet part print specifications. Its variable helix design ranging from 35 to 38 degrees supports chip evacuation and vibration dampening when working with stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys. No chipbreaker is present, keeping the cutting geometry clean for finishing as well as roughing applications. The ZPCR series designation identifies this as a roughing and finishing capable tool within the SGS product line.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine safety procedures. Verify toolholder runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear and can violate corner radius tolerance. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended feeds and speeds for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if the corner radius is outside the stated tolerance range.
