The SGS 36357 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.1563-inch (5/32-inch) mill diameter and a 0.4375-inch (7/16-inch) length of cut, this single-end tool is built for precision contouring and profiling in tight-tolerance work. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent results in hard and abrasive materials. An AlTiN coating enhances heat resistance and extends tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 36357 is suited for finishing passes on a range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, stainless steels, cast irons, titanium alloys, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, which is particularly valuable when machining complex 3D contours or thin-walled features. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder setups on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
The SGS 36357 is a Series Z1B ball end mill designed for finishing operations on hardened steels, stainless steels, cast irons, titanium alloys, and high-temperature alloys (ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S) using standard 3/16-inch collet or end mill holder tooling systems.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is confirmed before securing the end mill in the holder. Use a properly sized precision collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/16-inch shank diameter to maintain runout tolerance. Verify tool projection and length-of-cut engagement against the programmed depth before beginning the finishing pass.
